Klausing Group has been named an Elite Partner of the LiveGreenLexington Green Business Challenge. The challenge, administered through a partnership of Bluegrass Greensource and Lexington Fayette Urban County Government, is a game based contest designed to help businesses reduce energy, water, and waste through friendly completion.
The Green Business Challenge features activities across several categories including energy, water stewardship, waste reduction, transportation, education & outreach, green purchasing, and property manager engagement. There are over 100 activities challenge participants can complete in to earn points and move up the leaderboard. Results are updated daily and are shared with other participants so companies can track their progress. The challenge takes place from October 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015. Winners in individual categories and overall winners will be announced in a July awards ceremony.
This year’s Green Business Challenge features that addition of Elite Partners each of whom demonstrate an outstanding commitment to fostering sustainability and the well-being of our community. Elite Partners contribute at the request of challenge participants by providing resources to challenge participants including free training on green purchasing, free energy assessments, and free technical assistance. Klausing Group will offer consultation and technical assistance in the areas of landscape management, irrigation, xeriscaping, and storm water.
