Since its inception in 2000, Klausing Group’s 10% for the Community program has reduced or eliminated the landscape maintenance expenses of local, non-profits that provide critical services to our community. In the 22 years since the program’s inception, we have contributed grounds maintenance services worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. All in the hope that the program’s beneficiaries can maximize their impact on our shared community.
Today we are announcing a change to 10% for the Community. One that will allow us to maximize the impact of our contribution by focusing on the most environmentally impactful, long-lasting contribution a landscape contractor can make: planting trees. Healthy urban tree canopies reduce stormwater and urban heat. They improve water and air quality and they provide for wildlife and the pollinators that sustain the human race. And trees make us feel good, improving our mental and physical health. Communities with larger tree canopies are healthier.
